Canada Eh?!

Get the flash player here: http://www.adobe.com/flashplayer

This is the result of my brother in law calling me on friday with a last second invite on a kick butt trip to Totem Lodge in Ontario Canada. Only problem was, we weren't leaving until 6 am on Saturday. What was I to do with all the extra time between fishing trips? ;) It was a total crush session, we caught walleyes and smallies until our arms hurt. Then we still mixed in some muskie and pike action. Most all of our fish came on a shallow running crankbait thrown up close to the bank. Check it out for yourself.

City Limits Fishing

I recently got to take Tim Cooley, and Erik Rasmussen fishing on Lake Calhoun just outside of downtown Mpls.  The downtown skyline makes a great background for a crush session!  As you can see in the picture we hammered some giant bass.  Our best 10 bass weighed in at almost 43 lbs!  Biggest fish of the day came in at 6.2lbs and was caught in the afternoon by another great fishing partner Gunnar.  Gunnar was able to join us after lunch because Ras had to head to skate.  These were 4 of our many giant fish caught in the afternoon.

All of our fish came flipping in shallow milfoil.  They fish were tucked in the 7-10 foot range recovering from spawning just a few weeks back.

These were 4 of our better fish from the morning session.  Talk about a crush session!  The lake is trolling motor only so you really can't go any where.....makes for a great day.  You just troll around and catch fish every where.

Feels Good To Be Home

After my big finish in Arkansas I drove back to MN to do some guiding and fun fishing.  I am also trying to get moved back now that the FLW tour season is starting to wrap up.  I have a lot to figure out on that front in the coming months.  But for now I have been taking people fishing on my home waters of Lake Waconia, Lake Minnetonka, and Lake Calhoun.  The bass bite has been out of this world.  This was a few of about 40 bass Mike and I were able to catch in one morning on Lake Waconia.  Just so you know, Mike used to play in the NFL and is a giant man.....these fish were dandies.  :)

Most of our fish came fishing a big bite baits trick sticks in the 5".  We fished them wack-rigged and had great success.

I Net 3rd

The FLW tour Lake Ouachita event is in the books and I was able to fish my way to a 3rd place finish.  I pre fished with Bryan Thrift and Michael Bennett and had a great week.  The derby lined up very well for me.

Here are a few of the fish on caught on day 3 of the tourney.  You can read flw outdoors to learn more about what I was doing.

I will be updating with more info and stories.  But I have to get some rest before I hit the water again early.  Hope everyone had a great memorial weekend.  Stay tuned, more info is coming.
