The Results Are In

Fished a Dennys Super 30 local derby over the weekend on the Whitefish Chain with Jeremy Bester and was able to take top honors(8 bass for 22.1) as well we won the big bass award(4.12 LM).  It was a blast to go fish one of my ole trusty lakes and still be able to pull off the win.  Our best fish producer over the week was a Black 5" Big Bite Trick Sticks on a 1/8oz mushroom head in black.  We also managed to catch a few fish on a drop shot rig, a Spro Lil John crankbait, and also caught a giant smallmouth on a rock jig.

I will be back to guiding all this week and will have a fishing report from a few metro lakes and hopefully pictures of our success.  Until next time, Fish On!

Nighthawk Swoops In

Brennen a.k.a. "Nighthawk" was able to catch his first ever Smallmouth off a bed while we were on a "adventure" to Lake Mille Lacs. He stuck with this fish until it was finally on the end of his rod. We managed to catch many nice smallies off beds. Most of the fish fell victim to a white or chartreuse 3.5" tube jig. Good times.

These Fish Are Freaks!

Hit the waters of Lake Mille Lacs with with Eric Schultz and Peter Dunlap in pursuit of "giant" Smallmouth.  As you can Eric managed to catch himself a true "giant" smallies.  This fish was 21 1/4" and was all of albs or better.  It was Eric's personal best smallmouth-which is always nice to be apart of.  It was kind of funny because the one he caught right before this one, was his new personal best....then he broke that on his very next fish.  Nice work Eric.

We caught our fishing doing a couple different things; most of them throwing Spro Lil John Crankbaits-custom painted in crawdad color by Xtreme Lure Creations, swimbaits, and also on tubes/plastics.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and came home Saturday evening.  In the 26 or so hours we were up at the lake we could not have asked for better weather.  The sun was out and the wind did not blow like it can at Mille Lacs.  All in all it was a enjoyable and memorable trip with 2 great guys.  I will be back on the water today and try and keep the pics and stories coming.  Until next time, Fish On!
