Not so small-smallies

The fall is a great time to get out and catch fish of all sorts....but especially big brown smallmouth.  The weather has continued to rock and so has the smallmouth fishing.  I was able to get on the water today with a couple good friends and all of us managed to catch some dandy fish.

The smallmouth bass is one of the strongest fish; pound for pound; you can ever catch.  They pull so hard, especially since they river fish.  They are missiles, built to swim in heavy current every day.  I refer to it as "breaking your arm" when you get one of these big fish on!  Until next time, Fish On!

Fallmouth Smallmouth!

This is a great time of year to get out and do some smallmouth fishing.  I was joined yesterday by a couple of great friends; Eric, Hotrod, Pete, and we took off for a river smallmouth adventure.  As you can see we were able to get into some great action.  We caught 60 plus smallmouth and had a great day!

The weather was perfect, the fishing was great, and the company was 2nd to none.  The quantity and the quality were plentiful.

Full Flip

The full flip fall bite has still be producing some "swine" bass.  These are two of the better ones I was able to stick the other day while flipp'n on Lake Waconia.  The weather has had the fish in a bit of a funk, but when you get around them you can catch some good ones.  The bite has not been "fire" but it has been pretty fun.  The cool days to come should really turn the fish on!  ;)

This is one of the many donkeys I was able to catch while flipp'n on a metro lake.  The window for the killer fall bite is starting to get very limited.  Hopefully the big fish will continue to bite.  If you are looking to get out, get in touch with me sooner then later.  The days are running out.  Until next time, Fish On!

Day On The Lake

This is a photo of a great bass I caught with a good friend of mine Travis Frank.  He joined me for a short day on the lake and we were after LMB's!  We chose a lake neither of us had fished before and went out and tried to see what we could catch.  We did not catch a bunch of fish, but did manage a few fish.  Not only did we catch a few bass, we also managed a few northerns.  It was a great time with a great friend.

Thanks for the great day Trav!  Until next time, Fish On!

Don't forget to tune in this Sunday on Versus at 12 central for the airing Forrest Wood Cup.
