Mille Lacs

Spent the day Saturday on Mille Lacs with Jeff and Mizy chasing the lakes great smallmouth.  We managed to catch a few fish pushing 19"+!  All the fish we caught were on beds.

As you can see we had an upper hand on the fish!  The platform really helped when it came to seeing deep bed fish.  Amazing how much better you can see if you get up off the water a bit.  The action continues this week.....

Mixed Bag

Had a great evening of multi-species fishing last night.  The evening started off with a bit of bass fishing and eventually turned into walleye jigging.

The bass fishing was not fast and furious but we did manage a couple nice fish on senkos.  The walleyes had moved back up shallow last night with the resurgence of cool east wind.  We caught all of our fish on jigs and minnows and T-Rig's and leeches.

I was fishing walleyes when I hooked into and landed this 37" muskie on a jig and minnow.

Becky Frank Invitational

This past Saturday Travis organized a fundraiser fishing event for his sister Becky.  It was the 1st Annual Becky Frank Invitational.  Becky is going to Africa for 6 months to make a difference.  So we thought it was only appropriate that we donate some of our time and energy to send her off with a little spending money.  As you can see the event was a success and the weather was great!!  The fishing could have been better but I do believe almost everyone involved caught something.

Our boat managed a few nice bass and a 44" muskie that was caught by Tim.  Tim caught this fish on a jig worm and 8lb test, he did a great job fighting it and keeping it from breaking his line.  We snapped a quick photo and released this great fish back to the water.  Congrats Tim!
