The Honey Hole

P1260001.JPG

Tonka started to kick out some nice walleyes this past week.  Much of the lake had been open and not accessible until about Monday of last week.  Now we are able to get any where we would like.  I have to say thanks to Peter, Nig, Patty, and Jason for all there help and efforts this week.  You guys are the best!  The search for the elusive walleye continues.....

Who's Coming With Me!?!

I posed this question numerous times over the last two weeks, and many people pondered the thought.  But only 7 were able to make the adventure.   Check it out for yourselves.  The pictures will tell the story.

Left to right:  Jason, Nig, Peter, Eddie, Scott, ((not pictured) Andy, Todd, and myself) made a trek to Red Lake for some slab crappies and walleye fishing.   As you can see we had some pretty good luck.  The crappies ranged from 13" to as big as 15 1/4".  Most of the walleyes were too big to keep.  They can not be any bigger than 17" on Red Lake or you have to release them.  The weather was very cold, like -20.  So we had to hunker down and just stay in our shacks that is until Eddie thought it would be a good idea to streak Upper Red Lake....did I say that out loud? :)

I can't say enough good things about the guys that I was able to fish with this weekend.  It would be a very close race between these fellas and Theo's group.  Yeah, that reminds me.....Theo's group is this weekend.  I don't know how much more fun I can take.  The fun meter got broke by about 10 p.m. on Friday night.

And this is what he looks like after you bust him mid fish story.  Or wait maybe he was trying to skate on the floor!?!  The floor was pretty frozen.  Maybe he was coming up with the new dance moves  yet to be seen on MTV.

Hey guys, look alive!  This must have been after Fast Eddie burnt the knobs off the cook top.  Man you guys need to pick up around your house...looks messy.  Hey Ed, was it hot on the top bunk..?

Here We Go Again

P107001602.JPG

Welcome to the world through the eyes of Matt Peters!  As Yung Joc says, "Meet me in the mall, it's goin down, meet me in the club, it's goin down!"  I have a new hook I would like to add to the song, "Meet me in the lake, it's goin down!"

Once again the ice got the best of me!  Here are a few pictures from an adventure on Lake Minnetonka on Sunday.  As you can see, we bit off more than we could chew.  We were able to get the house out thanks to some help from , Jason, Peter, Nig, and Joel.  The bite has been fairly slow.  We will be back at it tonight.  More pics and stories to come soon.

This is the after-math when your house doesn't go across the pressure ridge, but rather through it.  I think this year has caused me life long trauma.  New website; anexperiencewithmatt.com!  gothroughicewithmatt.com!  We will have to get those up and running.  Talk at you all soon.
