The Infamous "Mud Idling"

This is a short video from yesterdays practice day on the Mississippi River in Wabasha MN. Chris and I were able to locate some good areas, needless to say this wasn't one of them.

Post Day 1 Lou-Tel

Well I didn't have as good of day as I had hoped but I did manage to squeak out 3 keepers for 4.8 lbs and am in 38th place out of 140 anglers. at the Loudon-Tellico FLW Tour event.  As you know I fished with good friend Michael Bennett.  Michael fished bed fish all day(2 1/2 hrs on one fish that never did bite) which in turn limited me to what I could fish.  He asked that I not throw on his bed fish, and I don't blame him.....they were big fish.  He managed to catch 4 smallmouth for almost 13 pounds., but came up one short of his limit.  Tomorrow I will need to bag about 7-8 lbs and I should be sitting pretty good.  Let's hope it is a crush.  Fish On!

Fort Loudon-Tellico FLW tour day 1

I am fishing tomorrow with Michael Bennett, 2008 Forrest Wood Cup Champion($1million), one of my favorite anglers.  He is one of the nations best bass fisherman and I have much respect for him.  It will hopefully make for a great day on the water and hopefully he lets me catch a few bed fish.  I know he will be guarding his bed fish closely because he has to make them last for 3 days.  Wish me luck, let the crush begin.

Michael has also started a online tackle store called Bass Tackle Supply.  It is just getting going and will continue to grow and have more and more tackle choices.

Both Ends Of The Spectrum

Fished today out of the Mosaic boat with good friend Brent Long from NC. Today was day 2 of 3 practice days at Fort Loudon-Tellico FLW tour event. In the last 2 days I have caught a ton of "small" bass. The big bite is very hard to come by, but in the video below you will see just the opposite end of the spectrum.

Fished the first day of practice with National Guard pro Justin Lucas and he was able to catch a donkey. I hopefully can get a big bite come tourney time. We did go on to catch 50+ fish they just were all small like the first video. But it is good to know there are a few big ones around and possibly biting. Stay tuned for more soon. Will try and post video and pictures after tomorrows final practice day. Stretch the string!
