Gary Crushes it for a good cause

Gary V has been crushing it for some time, but this time around he does it for a good cause. He runs Wine Library and has used the social media tools available today to build an empire. He even wrote a book about how you can do it yourself. If you want to know anything about wine, or a man that made millions off internet advertising, Gary is a good man to follow. And no I didn't get my crush theme from him, I was using that term for years now. Until the next time I can get on the water and make my own crush session video. Fish On!

Random Video from this summer

This is from this past summer. Had my brother and two of his good friends from GA up for a couple days of fishing. We were fishing on Lake Waconia in MN for muskies (it was tough) but decided I needed to fish for bass for a bit. Can't help myself. Excuse the random chit chatting about nothing.....

Snow Expected

I am headed out today on Lake Lanier in search of some Spotted Bass for a tourney on Sunday.  It is 28 degrees and not nice out....this winter just will not let up.  2-4 inches of snow are expected today.  Will make things interesting.  I will be posting pictures of how things go...or lets hope I get into a few.

Canceled

The FLW tour season opener at the Red River this week has been canceled.  I was excited to get started; total bummer.  After all the travel and expense to be there and prepare just for them to cancel.  They did the right thing in the long run but we as anglers have to realize that we are always putting ourselves at risk.  Seriously our boats go over 70 mph.  What was different about this time around was the cold water in play.  If you did fall in or got thrown from your boat you would have been dead in minutes.  The water was 40 degrees, the air was in the 30's and the current was ripping along.  It would have been bad if they held the event and someone got hurt or died.  But like I said earlier, we are always at some risk...but I understand they wanted to limit that risk this time around.

Most guys left with mixed feelings.  Many anglers felt the canceling had little to do with safety and much more to do with the fact that the fishing was tough.  So for the guys that were on fish they felt jipped and the guys that had terrible practice, well they got off the hook(no pun intended).  I am here to tell you that fishing was terrible and very tough but this is what we do for a living and is our job.  The conditions were the same for everyone.
