Make It Happen

ice07walleye.JPG

Lake Minnetonka continues to kick out some nice walleyes.  It has started to slow a bit, but if you put in your time you will be rewarded with walleyes like this 25" er.  This fish hit a rattle reel with a big shiner at 2:40 a.m. and as you can see I was a bit sleepy yet.  More photos and stories to come soon.  Headed to Red Lake next week, can't wait!

Lake Waconia Ice Report

Was on Lake Waconia last night and found the ice in Wagners bay to be about 17-18".  People are driving trucks and houses all over the lake.  We fished for about 45 minutes and caught 6 small crappies.  I have more pics and reports coming.

Stop Fishing, Start Catching!

nigwalleye.JPG

Here is a picture of Nig with a nice Minnetonka walleye.  The lake has been giving up lots of these "eater" size walleyes with an occasional giant mixed in.  Lake Minnetonka continues to be our main focus, with an occasional trip to Waconia.  The ice conditions have started to improve.  Lake Minnetonka has about 14-15" of ice on most of all of Upper Lake.  I will be on Waconia tonight and will report back with some ice conditions.  The best bite has been from 4:30-6 o'clock in the evening.  I apologize for the lack of reports, I have been on the ice every day and evening with different groups of happy fisherman.

Katie was able to catch a few walleyes of her own.  We are still catching most of the fish jigging either a Northland buckshot spoon or a Rapala jig'n shad rap in perch color tipped with a minnow head.  Many of the larger fish are coming on the rattle reels in the middle of the night on shiners.   I will have more reports and pictures to come soon.  Keep on Keep'n on!

Ice Fishing Rate Increase

As of Jan 01 2008, My ice fishing guide trip rate increased to $125 per person for 4 hrs to off set the rising costs of everything involved.  This way the service you have all come to count on will continue to stay exceptional.    Thanks Matt
