Walleyes anyone?

summer 06 01002.jpgGetting while the getting is good!

Well, needless to say we did it again last night.  The bite is crazy for walleyes right now.  The weather has been consistent since Sunday and the fish have responded by biting very good.

Wing Nut and I caught another 14 last night and kept 9.  If Wing Nut could keep from losing any we probably would have topped 20 again last night.

We had a magnificent fish fry last night at Hoppers after we were all done cleaning.  summer 06 00902.jpg

The action may start to slow soon so get off the couch, the lawn mower, the computer, and call me to arrange some action like this for yourself.

The bite is on

p515042102.jpgThese are a few pictures of the walleye bite from monday night on Waconia.  Wing Nut, Dennis Clark, Dan Precht, and Allison were all able to get in on some of the action.

We kept 11 for a fish fry and threw back another 10 with most of them being caught on minnows.  The best bite has been at dusk until a little while after dark.  Crankbaits are still producing a few fish in the shallows.  If you are interested in getting in on some of this action call or e-mail me soon because the slots are filling fast.

Brrr!

Another fishing opener is upon us.

As the 2006 Walleye opener in MN approached it seemed as though the nice spring weather we were having was going to be a delight for all of us anxious fisher-people.  Well the nice weather that we were having has left us and a cold front has moved in.  Wouldn't be a MN opener with out the possibility of snow now would it?  The wind, rain, and cold has set in on us for the next few days.

I am hoping to get some time on the water tomorrow if the weather does break.  Hopefully next week will shape up to be a bit nicer and I will get the seasons first walleye pictures here with stories of the big one that didn't get away.
